Okinawa is a Japanese prefecture comprising more than 150 islands. Once split into 3 kingdoms. One (Chuzan) of which was ruled by Shunten from 1166-1237. After his death, his son Shinbajunki ruled. Shinbajunki ruled with a mythological Shisa mask given to him by his mother that would give him superhuman abilites. Many years passed and the mask remained in tact, resting in the Okinawa Prefectural Museum, until stolen by a young Nanami Shiro. Naha was where a devastating fight between Shisa-san and the Swan Maiden took place. 

We see Okinawa through the lense of Nanami Shiro and Seison Yuga. A beautiful island with pristine beaches, sure, but also a vibrant community. Seison and Yuga fit right in to this vibrant side of Okinawa, especially due to Nanami's love for hiphop artists from Okinawa such as Awich and OZworld.

Home to many mythic creatures, including the Kijimuna, who are mischievous forest spirits of Okinawan mythology. They aid Nanami and Seison in their quest against the malevolent forces threatening Okinawa.
