When Brainwasher takes over earth, he kills Hemlock. Her death shook the entire world.
Afterwards, Elaine Yi (Ruga Yi’s daughter, Memory) offered her help to the Odyssey. She was an expert in interdimensional science, studying reanimation using beliefs her father had taught her and her technology. She successfully reanimated Hemlock with the life force of an alternate Hemlock named Kudzu, who had no memory of her life. She began picking up pieces of her old life and figured out who she is. She realized that being alive as Kudzu hurt everyone more than being dead as Hemlock. She found Memory and pleaded for her to reverse the process and kill her. Reluctantly, Memory did.
When Hemlock becomes Kudzu, Instinct quits the Odyssey. Instinct sees Memory kill her and he hunts her down. She uses her powers to hold him in a suspended state and accidentally materialize a son from their DNA (Neuro). Memory and Neuro ran away and went into hiding in Russia, Elaine raising Neuro as her son. Memory began mass producing her tech and creating a group called The Pure, who are bent on finding the Council of Outcasts and conquering the prime reality.
Darion Yi (Neuro) learns the truth about his birth, runs away from his mother, and travels to Paris, where he stops a gang and becomes a vigilante.
Instinct flees to the Japanese countryside, retiring from his hero work. However, he ends up tracking down a crime ring connected to Memory’s father Ruga. He uses an alternate name (Nocturnal).
Oliver Evelzar, an ex-Forensics freelance detective, went to a temple that worshipped the Council of Outcasts. Through their teachings, he bonded with an element he was investigating and learned to use it to manipulate interdimensional energy. He becomes “Conjurer.” He and Nocturnal stopped the crime ring, but Yi got away.
They return to the temple where they find Asuri Vinn (Dread). The three track down Memory with the help of Solar Flame. After Instinct left, the Odyssey sent Solar Flame to find him. She dropped off the Odysseys radar to help James find memory and then returned to the Odyssey empty handed, covering for James. Nocturnal, Conjurer, Dread, and Solar Flame call themselves Silence. They sometimes team up with Shisa-san.
